Borders Hospital Radio Service has been broadcasting from the Borders General Hospital near Melrose since October 1988. Our purpose is to provide a radio service to patients, visitors and staff within the hospital and help contribute to a more positive atmosphere. There has been a lot of research carried out which suggests music can ease stress, lift your mood – and even aid in the recovery of patients. Whilst we don’t claim to rival modern medicine, we do aim to make the duration of a patient’s stay in hospital as enjoyable as it can be by lifting spirits through music.
